Volunteer Weeding Session at Indian Prairie Tribute Planting

Date: Thursday, September 17, 4:30 p.m.

Join Milwaukee Audubon Society in Glendale for a volunteer weeding session to remove teasel seed heads from Indian Prairie Tribute Planting. The 1.1 acre prairie was planted in 1991 and has flourished as a pollinator paradise! Unfortunately, invasive teasel has been encroaching into the prairie in recent years and could use volunteer help to slow its spread.

Trash bags and clippers will be provided. Bring a pair of nice, sturdy gloves – leather is best. Long sleeves and pants are recommended as the teasel can be prickly. There is no set end time for this event.

The prairie is located in Glendale along Milwaukee River Parkway, about 1 mile south of the Kletzsch Park Dam, between Sunny Point Road and West Civic Drive. Look for the #82 Fire Station on West Civic Drive.
